Anything from Vorshlag is best Mustang. I’m getting ready to begin some slightly more aggressive modifications to the suspension of my 09 GT in preparation to compete next season in my regional SCCA Solo group. I’ve been autocrossing for ~5 years, not consistently throughout a season, and next year I want to begin competing for points. If anybody is interested, I’ll be competing in SM however, I may pull the cams out in favor of the stock cams to at least put me back in ESP; that SM multiplier is a bitch.

So here’s a question for you fellow live-axle autocrossers: What camber/caster/toe settings do you prefer? After poking around the interwebs, reading forum posts by Vorshlag, and looking at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I’m thinking about -3 degrees/+6-7 degrees/o degrees. 0 degrees on toe because currently with 285 R1S tires all the way around, I’m pretty happy with turn in on the car and I don’t know if I want to fight the steering wheel so much on breaking. Thoughts? Opinions? Am I complete idiot?

Because you like this “turning” thing:

(people can hate the Mustang II all they want, truth is it’s front suspension was a massive upgrade for 60’s Fords and it bolts right in.)

Call Maximum Motorsports and ask for Mike Croutcher. He’s a buddy of mine, and one hell of a wheelman. He’s a straight shooter too, no BS about what works and what doesn’t.

Okie dokie. The caster camber plates that are on the way are from them. Hopefully that also gives me more of an ‘in’ with them.

I know this is an old thread. Go CAM C. Less rules, leave the cams in. Unless you are set on slicks, CAM C is a better class, imo.

I didn’t really consider it because you have to use 200 UTQG tires and I currently do run slicks. Then I looked at the PAX multiplier for CAM C. HOLY CRAP. It’s a better multiplier than even STU! Sold! Now I need to find some sticky 200 UTQG tires.

I run RS-3s. Cheap but the outside shoulder wears out quickly. They can be flipped, there is no outer shoulder. Rivals and Direzzas are a good tire as well.

I like CAM-C because I can show up on the tires I race on and almost 0 rules. I don’t need to swap. Bump up the psi and you are good to go. I can get 2 summers out of my RS-3s but the times fall off after about 10 events or ~40 runs.
